Two things to plan for before we arrive.

  • The horns and strobes will sound. A full NFPA 72 test requires us to activate the notification appliances throughout the building. Please tell tenants and occupants in advance so the alarm is not mistaken for a real event.
  • We need access to every area the system protects. That includes tenant suites, mechanical and electrical rooms, elevator machine rooms, roofs and locked storage. Anything we cannot reach on the day has to be recorded as untested and rescheduled.

The horns and strobes will sound during this test
A full NFPA 72 inspection requires us to sound the notification appliances. Buildings with a monitored connection should expect us to place the system on test with the monitoring center first.
We will need access to every area the system protects
Every device has to be tested, including those in tenant spaces, locked rooms and above ceilings. Areas we cannot reach on the day have to be noted as untested on the report and rescheduled.
